If you could bottle HAPPINESS, this is what it would look like!

What a sweet couple of rug rats I have!  These two balls of energy are always on the go!  When I woke this morning I noticed the rain & felt the urge to get out of the house...first thing that came to my mind was shopping!  Well after weighing it all out & realizing that shopping in the rain, with two kids would be a train wreck..I decided to make the best of the wet day & play in it!  The munchins were over joyed by the idea!  We had to brush teeth and have breakfast first. Then what do you know ~ the rain stops!  So with a water hose & more
energy than a full throttle can ever provide, we hit the drive way!  Tater was dressed his best in PJ's and lyla was sporting her new (loved by mom) pony tai & Rain boots.  These are some of the images that captured the day.

Tater decided to top it all off by jumping in the pool in his clothes, I guess I'm just thankful he removed his shirt first ;)  Today was a total hit~ we finished up the fun in the bath!  The little monkeys were so excited to be aloud to splash, even if it wet the floor, that they came close to drowning one another!

This is one of those days I will tuck back in that little happy spot of my brain and hope it never fades..... I want to remember every sound of laughter & happy moment today held.  (all the nagging/fighting in between we'll let go of ;)

A lesson I learned from today.... Make something out of nothing~ and it just may be your everything!

Love this one....

Just wanted to share one of my favorites from the 2009 wedding season!  Such a sweet couple ;)

The Happy, Silly, cute as can be Boswell Family

I have a new favorite!  Refer to photo above~ What a fun little session this was!  The Boswell Family was up for anything & even added their own flair to the session (as shown above)  I love when clients I've never met before are able to open up, be crazy & live life as if I weren't there. I have to say that it is a hard thing to do, we all feel funny when someone is pointing a camera in our face.. especially when that someone has online access with tons of viewers ;)  I give the Broswell Family two thumbs up for putting up with me & my silly ideas in the blazing sun, for having fun while doing it, and for making my Saturday fun!  This is why I love my job.

Look at these cute lil girlies!  I love em' to pieces~ I hope The Boswell Family will treasure this picture of childhood for years to come, I sure know I'm jealous & really wish it were an image I could hang on my wall~ (new goal.... learn to use the remote set up better & invest in super heavy duty duck tape to keep my kiddos still long enough for a session)  Susan, you were asking what some of my favorites were & this one above would no doubt be a wall hanger in m home ;)

I will be editing more images from The Boswell Session & can't wait to view them myself..... the remaining images haven't been sorted through yet, so Susan.. I may have more favorites!

#1 BIG BROTHER AWARD goes to........ TATE!

As a teenager I knew I wanted to be a Mom when I grew up~ I knew I wanted a boy first & then a girl, I wanted them to be spaced apart by 3.5 years, and I got just that! Why all these requests?!?!? Well, I loved my childhood as the only girl surrounded by boys. I loved having an older Brother to watch over me, introduce me to everything cool in life & be there for me when I needed him. So that is why I wanted a boy first, I wanted to raise a son that was full of love and would be there for his sibling just as mine were for me. So when Tater bug turned two I began the begging..... It was all I talked about to Rob, finally he gave into me (as always) and said we would try for blessing number 2. She arrived 3 years 9 months after Tate. Tate was a little unsure of her when she arrived & even asked us a few times to put her back in my belly!

I look at my two youngsters and just smile, there are times that I can relive my childhood through them. Not only in the sweet moments that fill my belly with butterflies but also in those moments of childhood mishaps. I can hear my older brother in Tate, and myself in Lyla. My Mom has told the story over and over about Nathan offering me his bubble gum, when I was less than a month old...and not just offering it to me, but feeding it to me! It sounds just like Tate & Lyla. Lyla has had an ear plug lodged in her throat, has been colored every color of the rainbow by her crayola lovin' brother, has nearly drowned in the bath by a squishy bath toy being squirt into her face (while Daddy was holding her & he didn't even see it happening!) has eaten Dog food, has really been the test dummy on every idea that pops in Tate's head! All of these little trials by her big brother have been scary (fun in the eyes of Tate) but at the end of the day they have a bond that will last a lifetime.

After a day at the county Fair this summer I just want to say Thank You to Tate.. Thank you for being that big brother that every little girl needs. Thank you for rough housing her, as you will make her an adventure seeking tom-boy who isn't afraid to get a little dirt on her sun dress. Thank you for teaching her all the good and bad things that come with life. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You for loving her with out end. I have seen it many times over, but finally have some cute pics to show the security blanket they provide for one another. I love them with out reserve and am so glad they have also found that love in one another.
So thankful for my blessing in life..........for my yesterdays with these sweet kids, and for all my tomorrows to come.

Catchlights~ a magical thing!

The Catchlights in a subject's eyes are on of my favorite things! Most of the time it is the photographer (me) in the eyes of the children I photograph, which I LOVE! I look at it as if I'm in every image I take, my little signature on the image, look in the eyes & there I am! If you've had outdoor photographs taken by me, then look into the eyes of your children & you'll see what I'm talking about ~ Most of the time it takes zooming into the image, which most of you probably don't do....but if you try it I'm usually always there! I love this image because it isn't me that little Titus is looking at, it is his Father. While editing his images I found his catchlight looked different & zoomed in to find this~ super sweet if you ask me! If you click on the image it will make it even larger :)

Just thought I'd share one of my favorite things about photography~ Catchlights & what they mean to me!

Sweet Lil' Finney Family

You guys were a great bunch to work with! I love love love these eyes...so electric! I was able to capture soooo many awesome shots with this happy bunch~ I just don't have words to describe Anna Grace's eyes...I'll continue working on their pics once I'm caught up on the prior sessions, until then here are a couple I pulled out to show!

For some reason I like this unhappy image~ they are just puzzled looking & I think in years to come Mom & Dad will like it too~ as we all know with children we see alot of little pouty faces, so I guess that is why I'm glad we got one shot with them all puckered up!

Just been busy!

Oh my, what a busy couple of months this summer has been! I will be happy to slow down a bit come 2010, but have enjoyed the sessions with you guys so much! The last session I shot was with Tyler, a super sweet High School senior from Gilmer. He was great to put up with me as long as he did...climbing on hay bales, dodging cow piles, and risking his life on the metal train bridge ;) We snagged some cute images, not only of him but of this big guy!

Just wanted to share alittle behind the scenes look at what goes into a session! Thanks Michelle & Tyler for the fun filled evening! Tomorrow will be a happy journey with a cute lil family that I met at Tate's Pre-K. I'm excited about their session & hope they are too.

Until next time!

SUPER FUN~

Those are the two words I'd use to describe yesterday! It started out with the 4th of July Parade in Jasper, (which my kiddos loved) then prep for the wedding (and yesterday's nervous blog post) then it was time for the wedding!  Rachel & I were pumped & ready, the kiddos were great! We had a blast, with baby in hand we were posing the other lil ones ;)  Their outfits were to die for & the older kids deserve a HUGE ICE CREAM as a reward for all their help!!!  They held, fed & comforted all the little ones while the pictures were being taken & during ceremony.  It turned out beautifully~ I just wanted to share a few of the candid  shots I got during the ceremony (especially for Lisa & Michelle to see, showing we did indeed get great images!) Even with a few tears the images captured the day, just as I hoped. I can't wait to weed through the other images, I'll post more once I do!

Once the wedding was complete & the happy couple were off to live happily ever after....I came home & partied like a rOCk sTar!!  (well like a 5 year old rock star!)  We shot off fireworks (yes, the kind that aren't legal in Ga......but it was the 4th, so cut us some slack all you crazy neighbors yelling from your porch!)  Here is one silly pic of my bff and I.  I have some cute one of Tater bug, but Lylee was snoozing in her bed & missed all the fun! *Don't worry we saved a handful for her to enjoy this evening, so get ready all you neighbors of White Pine Way...we'll be out again tonight ;) LOL  I'll post pics of Tater & his buds later, as for now~ Here I am at my truest!

Can't believe I'm adding this one to my post, but heck you only live once! (no drugs or alcohol were consumed during making of image...well maybe half of a melted pina-colada LOL ~ I just know how to have fun!)

Nerves~~~~

mine are about shot!  I know it is what keeps me on my toes, keeps me fresh & ready for the challenge, but I'm really sweating today's wedding!  (let's hope the bride's family does not read this before the wedding today ;) Nah, but really...I do get nervous, every wedding I go to I am a basket case before hand, just ask my hubby!  I think I am this way because I know how important my job is.  I am there to capture their very important day, a day they will remember for the rest of their lives.  I am there to take all the little moments they share together & turn them into art.  The weight of their memories rest on my shoulders.  Sure they will remember the day without images, but will it fade over time~ YES!  The story my images tell will not.  So that is what I think about before every wedding...this day can not happen again, we can not reshoot, we can not fake true emotion, we have to capture it the first time & it has to be right ~ NO EXCEPTIONS!  So, let me tell you alittle bit about today's wedding.....  We will be capturing images of 25 children, 10 bridesmaids, 10 groomsmen, one beautiful bride, & one very happy groom!  So, what does that mean?!?!?  I have to dance like a chicken and do whatever it takes to get 25 children to look at me at the same time, with all their eyes open, and a smile on their faces.  I know it can be done & if someone can do it, it'll be me!  My heart is in it to the fullest, I have confidence, and a wonderful assistant at my side.  So, why am I writing this?  Well mainly to release the anxiety I am feeling.  I do know as soon as the day starts I will get in "Photographer Mode" and it'll all flow fine.  * Keep an eye out for the super cool pics from today*  And on another cool note, here it the ad for the bridal magazine, they will be using other images in the magazine, but am not sure yet which ones...  So after this long blog spot, guess what they are looking for in the next issue?!?!?  Children!  We will have plenty shots of cute kiddos after this wedding, so it all works out wonderfully!  I'm so blessed to have all my ducks fall in a line, I could have never imagined my life working out so beautifully.  Thanks to all of you for retaining me as your wedding photographer & for trusting me with such an important job.  A job that is more than a job, it is a love.  I feel as if each & everyone of my Brides have became part of my life, how could I not after spending such a happy day with them....and they even let me meet the family ;) LOL

So, here is the ad....make sure to check the shelves of Walmart, Ingles, kroger, etc. it should be released sometime within the next month.  *if you are featured in the ad or magazine pages I will have a copy for you :)  I'll post an update once it hits shelves!  (and I'm signing them for free, just playing~ but I am beyond proud of this accomplishment)  Thanks Jen Gibbs, for the opportunity!
